HOUSTON (July 9, 2018) – Digisonics, a leading provider of PACS and Structured Reporting Solutions for OB/GYN and Maternal Fetal Medicine studies, has developed an easy-to-use website to quickly calculate the risk of microcephaly due to Zika Virus exposure.

The Zika website, available at www.zikarisk.com, is based on the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine’s Statement on Ultrasound Screening for Fetal Microcephaly Following Zika Virus Exposure, (published in the February 2016 issue of American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology). Users simply input the gestational age in weeks and head circumference in mm and the risk of microcephaly as well as recommended follow-up per SMFM guidelines will display.

The tool was created as a free website in order to provide the best access to physicians and others. The risk level and recommendations can be easily entered into OB reporting applications (Digisonics and others) in order to track head circumference growth and for long term follow-up.
